Loddon Valley Lions are most grateful to all those in our area who supported our Christmas Appeal. During December, we took Father Christmas to most parts of the area over 18 nights and are sorry that it was not possible to get to every location.

Father Christmas received a tremendous welcome from everybody and in addition to receiving just over £8,000 in financial donations, also received a substantial number of spectacles and hearing aids, which will be put to good use in developing countries of the World.

Father Christmas also received a large number of entries for his colouring competition. These were of a very high standard and he is having difficulty in selecting the winners in each category, because of this. However, the winners will be announced very shortly. Watch this space!

We thank everyone for their support, which has helped us bring a little extra cheer into the lives of the elderly, disadvantaged and lonely, this Christmas as well as helping generally, with our humanitarian projects in the local community.

A very Happy New Year to everyone and please keep up your much appreciated support."

2. Tadley Treacle Fair 2002

This year's Tadley Treacle Fair will be held on Sunday 2 June 2002 (the Queen's Jubilee Weekend) in the usual location, Saunders Field, opposite Lloyds Bank in Tadley. This will be our contribution to the local celebrations and we hope that it may be possible to join with some other organisations who can put our marquee to good uses for other related celebrations, for example childrens parties, etc.

Happy New Year & regards,

John Goodchild
