What is Shopmobility?
Shopmobility is a national scheme for people with restricted mobility. It provides powered scooters, and electrical or manual wheelchairs for hire, to improve access to the town centre and local facilities.


Who is it for?
Absolutely anyone - young and old - who would enjoy increased mobility in and around the town can use the facility. You might be recovering from an illness or just find getting about difficult. Whatever the reason we can help. We can even provide an escort to push a manual chair, give you confidence with a powered vehicle or simply keep you company.


What do I do now?
Simply telephone us on +44 (0)1256 476066 to make a booking. We need 48 hours notice if you would like an escort or need meeting at the bus or train station. We will discuss your requirements and work out which vehicle would best suit your needs. Don't worry if you have not used the equipment before. We will show you how to use it and make sure you are happy before you leave the centre.


There is a yearly registration fee of £2.50 to join Basingstoke Shopmobility and a rental charge of £2.50 per visit. Basingstoke & Deane Travel Tokens can be used as payment.
