On Tuesday 24th February 2004
Tadley Library
held an Open Morning
to coincide with the opening that week of the new Sainsbury’s
supermarket. We invited local community groups and targeted in
particular people who through some disability find it difficult to get
to the Library. Invites were sent to people belonging to the Home
library service as it has been recognised for some time that though
the Home library service provides an invaluable service to individuals
in their own homes sometimes people would like to visit the library
themselves even if it was infrequent. Transport is the problem and
unfortunately still is. On this occasion Community transport were
unable to help and so library staff picked up people in their own
cars. |
